Since the big news from Tales, that keeping your vermuth refrigerated definetely makes it last longer I’m considering buying some bottles for me.
You may never heard of this, but Jamie Boudreau have his “secret” Golden Ratio to make cocktails with vermuth, this is it:
- 1.5oz spirit
- 0.75oz vermuth
- 0.25oz modifier (a sweetner or amaro)
He says it will work 90% of the time, and I hasn’t done a bad one yet.
You can include bitters or a zest, but this alone works pretty well.
Next post I’ll put a cocktail that I made using this ratio and will discuss possibles improvements for my recipe.
