Some smart Venezuelan ordered his Cuba Libre with a little gin, Angostura and less coke.

Now it is a grown out cocktail.

Cuba Libre Preparado

  • 1.5oz Aged Rum
  • 0.5oz Gin
  • 0.75oz lime juice
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters

Shake, strain into ice filled Collins glass,  top with 3oz Coca-Cola.

The recipe I found required White Rum, but I really don’t like mixing “white” spirits with Coke, it just doesn’t taste right.

This is a really great twist on a simple highball, and is really good.

I put a drop of Orange Bitters in it just to bring a little extra citrus.
