I went out for shopping yesterday to purchase some more gin (Tanqueray N°TEN) and also brought home triple sec (Bols).
So I tried this classic out.
- 1,5oz Gin
- 0,5oz Triple Sec
- 0,5oz Lemon juice
- 1 egg white
Dry shake without the triple sec, dry shake with the triple sec, shake and strain into a cocktail glass (or a flute).
Shake it like you mean it, otherwise it will smell like chicken.
This was very good, the egg do add a nice texture, but I think the ingredients were indistinguishable and hence the ratios should be tweaked.
You can find nice reading for egg whites in cocktails at Bohrer’s blog. (Which is a GREAT blog, and I have read it all)
